The Challenge

As with all planter media there was a biology gap — an engineered mix with little humus and minimal microbial life to hold structure and nutrients.

The Solution

We specified a continuous layer of Green Zen organic coconut coir mulch across every planter surface at 60mm — between the residential and commercial depths, chosen because planter depth is limited but the presentation and evaporation demands are commercial. Coir suited a public planter scheme for specific reasons:

Installation
